Halloween Treats | CitiClean BlogSure it’s nice to make beautiful desserts, but when it comes to homemade Halloween treats, the uglier the better! Making delicious treats that tickle your tummy is super easy. This recipe for mud and worms is delicious for both kids and adults.

First you’ll need:

  • 12 chocolate, cream cookies (like oreo’s)
  • 1 package of gummy worms (3 ounces)
  • 1 package of instant, chocolate pudding
  • 2 cups milk (whole, skim, soy etc)

Crumble the cookies until they are mushed into crumbs. They’ll give the dessert it’s muddy texture, so if you want the mud to be thicker, make the crumbs bigger. If you’re looking for a smoother dessert, make smaller crumbs. For a nice, clean cookie crumble, place the cookies in a plastic bag and roll over them a few times with a rolling pin. If you have any helpers around, this is a fun part of the recipe for kids. Just make sure their hands are clean, and allow them to crumble the cookies inside a large bowl.

Next, stir the pudding mix together with the two cups of milk. Mix well for about two minutes or until creamy.

For single serving desserts, layer a small amount of crumbs on the bottom of a cup. Cover the crumbs with pudding, and then add more crumbs on top. Stick a few gummy worms into each cup and then pop in the refrigerator until serving time.

For one large serving of Mud and Worms, sprinkle a third of the crumbs on the bottom of a large bowl. Cover the crumbs with the pudding mixture and then sprinkle the remaining crumbs on top. Stick the worms into the mud, refrigerator and serve.

This super easy recipe is a perfect homemade Halloween treat for everyone!
