Thanksgiving is almost upon us, and no table is complete with a dish of delicious cranberry sauce.  We’re sharing our favorite recipe for it here with you…and wish you in advance a very happy holiday!

1 lb fresh cranberries
1 tsp grated lemon zest
1 tsp grated lime zest

1 tb grated orange zest
1/2 cup fresh squeezed orange juice
3 tb fresh lemon juice
3 tb fresh lime juice
1 cup granulated sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 tsp ginger
pinch of cloves (optional)
pinch of cinnamon (optional)
3 cups water

5 tb corn starch

Put the cranberries in a saucepan with the lemon, lime and orange zest.  Stir slowly then add the lemon and lime juice, sugar and ginger.  Add the optional spices, if you desire.  The mix in two of the three cups of water, making sure it doesn’t become too runny.

In a separate pan add the remaining water to the cornstarch.  Once it’s dissolved, add it to the cranberry mix and stir for 2-3 minutes, until thickened.
