Chances are that if you have carpet or rugs in your home, you’ve felt the pain of rug burn.

It’s caused by heat and friction of your skin rubbing against a rough surface, and you should treat it as fast as possible, because it really is very painful.

What should you do? Well, act fast. Run cold water over it for at least 5-10 minutes then pat it dry (don’t rub) with a clean towel. And, just as importantly, don’t cover it! Let it dry naturally. It should heal naturally in a few days, but wear loose sleeves apply some aloe vera to help anyway.

And try not to do it again!
